Organic Living is the concept used by all GM8 Group Ltd. brands to reflect our dedication to offering products which encourage a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. We're not restricting sustainable living to the limits of grocery shopping and plastic recycling, instead we use Organic Living as an umbrella term to describe an approach to life that seeks to reduce waste, improve cost effectiveness and progress onwards towards a happier, healthier existence.
Water is one of the most important and useful commodities on the planet. At Rainwater Solutions we know that rainwater harvesting can make a real difference to the global climate change crisis. Our rainwater harvesting vision is simple, we want to see rainwater harvesting shift from being a niche practice to an everyday commodity.
Our goal is for every domestic and commercial property in the UK collect, store and recycle rainwater. We want to see rainwater systems installed because drought and water stress is a reality.
This is especially important for big businesses with large amounts of land as there is potentially a huge amount of wastage and with our rainwater harvesting systems in place we can make sure the water is being redistributed and recycled around the property time and time again.
In 2020, a water company which serves parts of Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire had to supply an extra 120 million litres per day during the coronavirus lockdown. 2020 also saw the driest May on record in East Anglia with less than 5% of the normal rainfall.
An increased demand for water puts intense pressure on our water network as well as the environment. The new National Framework for Water Resources has warned that Britain will run short on water between 2025 and 2050, stressing that the average person needs to reduce their water use from 143 to 110 litres per day. Rob Light, Chair of the Consumer Council for Water, said:
"All of us have a part to play in the way we use water, but it’s vital we help consumers understand the scale of the problem and the steps that will need to be taken if we want them to be part of the solution.”
As individuals and businesses, rainwater harvesting is one way we can reduce our carbon footprint and have a positive impact on the environment. The Gutter Mate Diverter & Filter eliminates the need to use tap water outside the house; saving energy, reducing utility bills and easing water usage. This water can be used for numerous domestic tasks including watering the garden and car cleaning. Even better, our fine mesh filter allows recycled water to be used indoors for washing machines and toilet too.
If you are interested in rainwater harvesting and would like further information on how to get started, email us on email@example.com and we can help you install a filtered water package in your business or home.
